Share This:

Following the instruction from novell/netiq:

#rpm -Uvh <eDirectory build extracted folder>/eDirectory/setup/novell-edirectory- xdasinstrument-8.8.7-1.x86_64.rpm –nodeps

#rpm -Uvh <eDirectory build extracted folder>/eDirectory/setup/novell-edirectory- xdaslog-8.8.7-1.x86_64.rpm –nodeps

#rpm -Uvh <eDirectory build extracted folder>/eDirectory/setup/novell-edirectory- xdaslog-conf-8.8.7-1.noarch.rpm –nodeps

Create simlinks for libexpat.so

  •   ln -s /usr/lib64/libexpat.so.1.5.0 /opt/novell/eDirectory/lib64/ libexpat.so.0.1.0
  •   ln -s /opt/novell/eDirectory/lib64/libexpat.so.0.1.0 /opt/novell/ eDirectory/lib64/libexpat.so.0
  •   ln -s /opt/novell/eDirectory/lib64/libexpat.so.0.1.0 /opt/novell/ eDirectory/lib64/libexpat.so
End result: xdasauditds  module could not be loaded:  (-5984)
Possible fix:
Try ls -l /opt/novell/eDirectory/lib64/
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root       46 May  7 11:33 libexpat.so -> /opt/novell/eDirectory/lib64/libexpat.so.0.1.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root       46 May  7 11:33 libexpat.so.0 -> /opt/novell/eDirectory/lib64/libexpat.so.0.1.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root       28 May  7 11:33 libexpat.so.0.1.0 -> /usr/lib64/libexpat.so.1.5.0
check for existence of /usr/lib64/libexpat.so.1.5.0
The file isn’t there! ?
Most likely you can find it in /lib64/ directory.
Change the simlink to point to that file.
ln -s /lib64/libexpat.so.1.5.2 /opt/novell/eDirectory/lib64/libexpat.so.0.1.0
